I was born on March 11, 1991 in Boise, Idaho. Growing up I loved using disposable cameras, and looked for any excuse to use one. The last day of school there was always one in my hand, and every vacation I stocked up on them. When I was fourteen, I attended church camp in Oregon. There, I met a boy who introduced me to a whole new world of photographyDigital. He told me that whenever I thought I saw something that would make a good picture, to make a rectangle with my fingers and hold it to the subject. That advice is still with me today, and I often do it. Back home and over the next two years, I experimented with my own photography, and with the help of Adobe Photoshop, I discovered black and whit photography, which I still favor today.
Most of my inspiration comes from my music; whenever Im feeling really motivated, I pout on my music and go for a walk. Its on these walks that I think I take my best photos. I also get inspiration from emotions. When Im feeling upset, or its been a long day, I like to take my camera and walk to the cemetery near my house. Or when Im happy, or something good has happened, Ill take photos of the flowers and such around my house. I think my mood really helps set the right mood for the photo.
I have a lot of photography-related goals. In college, Id like to minor in photography. Afterwards, I want to move to New York, where Ive visited once before. During that visit, I took a lot of photos that I still treasure today. There, Id like to do photography in all my spare time; I consider New York to be a photographers heaven. Theres so much diversity and emotion there; everything is so unreal, things youd never see anywhere else, and itd be near impossible for you to ever run out of things to shoot.
